An English literature graduate (BA Hons, London), Jessica has been associated with the furnishings and interiors market for over 30 years, initially as a furniture trade journalist. Since founding the consultancy, Jessica has worked on a wide range of consumer and business to business accounts, planning and implementing PR campaigns, producing newsletter, brochures and web sites. She has also done extensive radio broadcasting, TV appearances and conference presentations on behalf of clients, as well as continuing with her freelance writing activity. She is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers and sits on the Manufacturing Guild Mark Committee. She was on the Grassington Festival of arts & music organising committee for six years.

Jan spent more than 20 years working as a journalist and press relations manager. The former women's editor of leading provincial daily paper the Sheffield Star, Jan won both a Whitbread feature writers and Nancy Astor award for her columns. She later went on to set up the in-house press office for Boots the Chemist where her remit was to spearhead the company’s product PR with the consumer press. Within two years of being established the press office had won a 'Best Newcomer to PR' award and a year later, PR Week’s ‘Best In House PR’ award. Jan joined forces with Jessica in 1995 and has been an instrumental part of the company’s growth. Jan is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers and was actively involved in fund raising for Yorkshire Cancer Research for six years.

Super-organised, Lisa is an experienced senior consultant who has worked across the furnishings, residential property and building trade arenas and currently works on brands such as Cormar Carpets and Bensons For Beds. A Preston University public relations graduate with an enthusiastic approach to all that she undertakes, Lisa has worked in trade and consumer PR for more than eight years. She has a great understanding of all key publications relevant to clients, and has built up strong relationships with the main journalists, an invaluable resource to AKA PR. If anyone can get you great coverage across trade or consumer titles, Lisa can!

A public relations graduate from Leeds Metropolitan University, Rachael joined the team after a brief spell in the retail trade. As part of her university course, Rachael spent a year working in the travel, building and construction sectors with a Leeds-based PR company as well as building up experience with placements in large blue-chip companies and the NHS. At AKA she works on a broad range of accounts – from online trading to floorcoverings.

After joining the AKA team as an office junior some 10 years ago, Jo has become a vital cog in the AKA machine! She combines her current role as office manager – which covers a multitude of tasks - with some crucial PR support such as organising competitions or regular ring rounds and visits to magazines uncovering forthcoming editorial opportunities.

Kay offers vital office and financial support within AKA PR as well as being responsible for the day-to-day secretariat administration of a UK trade association - one of AKA's many clients. Kay has a wide range of experience in a variety of areas from floristry to pharmaceuticals, insurance, travel, accountancy, printing and design!
